Howdy there, readers! It’s a lovely spring day in Asheville, which means that it is sunny, the wind is blowing hard enough to knock me down, and it’s going to snow this weekend. Whee!
I have a new page on this site that I’d like to draw your attention to: Workshops & Appearances
This will be regularly updated with event listings and ways to find me out in the real world. For example, on April 15, I’m hosting a free community herb/seedling swap here in Asheville at the Raven & Crone. Here’s the Facebook event page for more details!
One of the workshops that I offer is on how to make sauerkraut. I worked with a friend a week or two ago to start a big batch of sauerkraut to share, and my jar is still burping away on the countertop. This batch is so garlicky and delicious! I often make small batches of sauerkraut and other ferments as needed, since I’m the only person in the house who is into eating it. Oh, well! More for me! 😀
Cool Things:
*Kathie from Homespun Seasonal Living has a great post on making and using Dandelion oil. This simple infused oil is good for use health and beauty recipes, and it only takes a small jar of dandelion flowers! Always leave flowers for the bees and other pollinators, please. Check out Kathie’s courses and books for more guidance on identifying and using the weeds and wild places in your life.
*The Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine is having a Spring Sale that ends this Sunday, April 9th!
- Save $180 off their Online Herbal Immersion Program
- Save 10% off their Online Medicine Making Course
*If you want an intense, in-depth course on traditional mead-making, Jereme Zimmerman (author of Make Mead Like A Viking) is the faculty for a five day class called “WILD MEAD: TRADITIONAL FERMENTED HONEY BEVERAGES” on June 5-9 at Sterling College in Vermont.
*Don’t forget! There is a giveaway open until April 8th…win a pound of Organic Mellow White Miso from Miso Master! Check it out!
“Things I Love” are the occasional update posts full of fun stuff I come across on social media, events and workshops I have coming up, and other nifty things that don’t get their own posts.
