Guest Post Guidelines
Pixie’s Pocket is interested in guest posts, but we will only accept real articles from real people. We are looking for articles on:
- Herbalism – especially articles about one of your area’s native plants and its uses, a remedy that you created and enjoy, or similarly focused articles based on using herbs for health and nourishment.
- Brewing & Cordials – got a cocktail recipe, a tasty cordial concept, or something to say about the craft of brewing?
- Foraging & Wildcrafting – and recipes related to those foods.
- Self care & DIY beauty recipes made with herbs
Want to write about a topic that isn’t in the list? Send a pitch email to [email protected] with the subject line “Pixie’s Pocket Pitch” – we receive a ton of unsolicited (and spammy) blog pitches, so we’ll only look at those with the proper subject line included.
Guest Post Guidelines:
We accept only original unpublished work (your article cannot have appeared anywhere else in print or online). Once your article is published with us, you agree that you will not publish the article again in the same form elsewhere.
Guest posts are for bloggers and authors. If you are a business interested in working with Pixie’s Pocket, please write to [email protected].
Articles should be at least 600 words, but more is appreciated. If you are submitting a recipe or craft, this word count is negotiable. If you have images, those are happily accepted (high res/large images preferred). Please provide credit for the photographer/source if it is not your own image.
You may not link to any business that you are being paid to promote in the post.
You cannot promote a brand or product in the guest post.
Links to a business (brand or product) in the author bio are not accepted. The exception is a link to your blog, your website, or your own shop, which will be included or not at my discretion.
You may not use affiliate links in the guest post.
When submitting the post you will need to provide a headshot, a short bio and any links you’d like to include in the bio. This information will be added at the bottom of the guest post and on your author page.
If your article is accepted, we will post it with a byline. You may submit preferred links to social media or your own website, which may be included at our discretion.
We may add internal links to your article at our discretion. We will remove or no-follow any links that you include at our discretion.
Please don’t be offended if we suggest changes – edits will be kept to a minimum and mainly only impact grammar and spelling. Pixie’s Pocket reserves the right to edit content, title, and format prior to publishing.
Make reading easy by avoiding long paragraphs if possible and using headlines, bullets, images, etc. where appropriate.
All posts will be promoted via all of Pixie’s Pocket social channels and will be included in our regular rotation of posts we share. Your sharing of those links are encouraged!
Once you submit your guest post you will hear back from us within two weeks to let you know if your post has been approved or not.
If your post gets denied it is most likely because it doesn’t fit with Pixie’s Pocket or because it required too much editing, but you are more than welcome to submit other blog posts.
If you do not agree with these guidelines, please DO NOT submit your post.
